THE HOUSE
Upon seeing our house you will detect that for my wife Karin and myself mosaic art is not a hobby, it's not our vocation but it is our life. We were always infatuated by the beautiful objects and our house was a perfect opportunity to fully unleash our love and passion towards mosaic art. Our house won the art category in 2003 TV show 'My House-My Castle'. In 2004 our house with our mosaic works was presented in 'Your Home and Garden' magazine.
My mosaic works are influenced by the art of the Indian civilizations of North and South America as well as by the art of late Friedensreich Hundertwasser. What always impressed me was how they were using colours. It was so fascinating to see so many colours and yet at the same time experience such a harmony. Karin's and my vision was to create a home bathed in colour by integrating mosaics into it. Every surface was a chance to let loose a creativity that has opened up opportunities for expression. This house immersed in colour, with numerous colorful paintings, warm-coloured furniture, many artifacts has been an ever-growing inspiration in our mosaic works.
Most recent revelation of ours was that the most ultimate in mosaic art is the pebble mosaic art where the emphasis does not rest upon using many colours but striving for texture which is in turn so overwhelming. The power of pebbles was by far the greatest discovery on our mosaic art journey.
